AMsummary ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application AMsummary (the "App").
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:
We do not use your recordings or content to train AI models, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
By default, transcription happens on your device and your audio is not uploaded. Only as a rare fallback — for example, very long recordings or devices that cannot run the on-device model — is the audio sent to our AI provider for transcription, and it is discarded immediately after processing. The resulting text (transcript and summary) is always processed on our backend and by our third-party AI provider to generate your summaries and study materials.
We share data with the following categories of third-party processors, only as needed to operate AMsummary, each under data-processing agreements that limit them to providing their service to us:
Institutional customers can request the specific names of our sub-processors at soporte@amsummary.com.
Your transcripts and summaries are stored on your device and in your account on our backend. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access.
AMsummary is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly from within the App (Settings → Delete account). This permanently removes your account and the data we hold on our backend. Note that deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription — you can cancel it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Depending on your location (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may also have the right to access, correct, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, request a copy, or request deletion. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@amsummary.com.
You control your content: you can delete individual recordings or your entire account at any time from within the App. When you delete your account, your server-side data is removed. Audio sent to our provider in the rare cloud-transcription fallback is discarded immediately after transcription and is not retained.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
